2d visit: The old roof comes off

So the new one can go on.

This house is being built around the old adobe one.
When you factor in that the family needs a place to live while the building takes place -- es complicado!

  1. It's a hassle waiting for a new roof during construction, but when it's finally finished, all the inconveniences you've experienced is worth it. I hope the new roof is not only sturdier than the old one, but it should also be suited better to the climate over in Mexico. Unlike in the North where insulation is a key concern, ventilation is the primary concern at your place.

  2. Darn right. It's a problem having a decent place to stay when construction is ongoing. Particularly when it coincides with the bad weather. As long as you have a roof over your head, the workers could go on building the other parts. Joann @ AJCRoofing.com

  3. So, where did you stay when the construction took place? A Hotel? Camped in a tent? Next time, start with the walls and roofing, a space with basically both should be livable enough to stay in for the duration of the construction. Kate @ AquaDuctRoofing
